Sorry I had to run away so quickly yesterday. Sometimes I get carried away remembering and typing. Occasionally Mum gets cross with me, especially if she is tired after work and I am typing away and not helping her. So I don’t want to be on too long tonight. I’ll just quickly update you on everything:
1. Crochet. I can crochet a chain – quite a long chain actually! Yesterday Mrs Smith taught me how to hold the wool, which is quite tricky as you have to wrap it round your fingers in a weird way. She said the chain is the start of everything. At the moment it looks like a very long, thin snake, but she said that today she would teach me what to do next.
2. At school some friends and I talked about starting a band. One of my friends can play the guitar, and another plays the drums (well, she likes hitting the desk with sticks) so we are going to practise at break times. I need to think of some cool songs. Any ideas?
3. My verse today from Alison is Proverbs 3:5. (She’d actually written them in the notebook. Her Bible is a bit different to mine – she says hers is called The Message and sometimes it’s easier to understand.)
Alison wrote ‘Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own.’
I wrote ‘Good advice – I can’t understand much right now anyway. I try not to watch the news, it makes me feel sad inside. Trust God – He’s in charge, despite the weirdness around. He knows what’s best for me and my family.’
I don’t think my stuff was particularly deep or spiritual, but I did like this verse, it made me feel peaceful. I wrote it on a post-it note and stuck it on my wardrobe.
That’s all for today. I’m going to go now. Just heard Mum talking to someone on the phone – it sounded really serious. She got a bit upset and went out into the garden to finish the call. Never a good sign. I wonder what that’s all about!
